Ibrahim was born and raised primarily in the provinces of Sierra Leone. His father died when he was a small boy, and his mother managed to take care of him until she re-married and moved to Waterloo.
It was at this time that his stepfather prevented his mother from paying his school tuition and fees. The relationship between Ibrahim and his stepfather deteriorated to the point where Ibrahim was told to leave. His mother could do nothing, but could only advise him that it was probably best to leave.
On the streets of Waterloo, Ibrahim met a boy named Yusuf and quickly became good friends with him. Yusuf and his family embraced Ibrahim with open arms welcoming him in. Ibrahim worked on the streets of Waterloo selling candy, chewing gums, and other items to try to pay for his tuition and food. Ibrahim was later reunited with his mother.
Ibrahim is in Senior Secondary II and attends Lorenzo Gorvie Memorial Secondary School.
