Saidu lost both parents when he was very young. He was living with his aunt who sells food in Waterloo. He worked for his aunt washing plates and bowls for some time. Unfortunately his aunt would not allow Saidu to eat much, even the leftovers from customers.
His aunt refused to pay his school fees, and as a result, he had to stop attending school. His aunt actually beat him one day when he begged her to pay for his tuition. He moved out of his aunt's house to survive on the streets of Waterloo. Saidu now lives with his grandmother.
Saidu is in Class V and attends Prince of Peace School.
