Morrison lived with both of his parents in Songo, which is in Northern Sierra Leone. His aunt visited them and opted to take Morrison with her to Freetown where she lived and made sure he continued to attend school.
One morning his aunt told him to go to the bush to fetch firewood for cooking. Morrison was scared of the forest so he resisted and was not given food to eat that day.
This continued for a while. He then had to go to the street to carry loads and use the proceeds to buy some firewood on the pretext that he got it from the forest.
One day Morrison did not have enough money to eat, let alone purchase firewood, so he was scared to return home and slept on the street. He slept several days on the street before he met with our Sierra Leonean partner, Charles. He wishes to return home to his aunt and is very eager to start school again. He is ready for Class 5.
