Ibrahim’s father died in the Civil War on the day of the rebel invasion into the capital city of Sierra Leone, Freetown, he passed away in the city of Kanama in 1999. His mother died in 2002, falling ill when she arrived in the town of Grafton.
Ibrahim does not know what sickness took his mother. After the death of his mother, a lady in Grafton took Ibrahim in and took care of him for two years. That woman knew Margaret and asked her to take him into her home.
After years of being poured into by Margaret, his sponsor, many expedition members and staff, Ibrahim came to faith in Christ in 2017. The Lord used a dream to bring Ibrahim to faith. In his dream, Ibrahim recalls that he was falling in darkness. He said out of instinct, from years of hearing His name, he called out "Jesus, Jesus" and from that point on he was at complete peace in his dream.
When Ibrahim awoke from this dream he said he began to really reflect on who had helped him in his life and realized they were all Christians. He then knew, Christ must be real and accepted Christ after being a Muslim for his entire life.
Ibrahim was admitted into the University of Makeni in the city of Makeni in the fall of 2018. He will begin a four-year degree program to obtain his degree in Human Resources Management.
