Arif has born and brought up in a Christian family. When he was twelve months old his father passed away in a road accident. Four years after the death of Arif's father, his mother eloped with a man abandoning Arif with his maternal grandmother.
Arif's grandmother does not own her own property, so she works other people's fields as a daily wage laborer to survive. However, she is not able to bring in much income because of her advanced age and frequent illness.
One of the young men the 25 Project served and who graduated out of our program, Abhishek works and lives in the same city as Arif and his grandmother. Abhishek heard about Arif's situation and he spoke with his grandmother and referred her to Mercy Homes.
Arif's grandmother then came to Mercy Homes to seek help and admittance for Arif.
