Sending Smiles to Sierra Leone

September 18, 2015

With God’s leading, we were so excited to give our sponsors the chance to provide a personal care package to their sponsored child. We are always thrilled about the way God moves among His people! Within two days of discussing the possibility of providing care packages and finding someone to champion the effort, we received a sweet email by one of our sponsors, Barbara Cross. Her question was about…..you guessed it, care packages! After some prayer by Barbara and the 25 Project, we all decided to…

We are extremely excited to announce the addition of a new member to the 25 Project staff!  Sarah Teasdale is joining our team after many years of working in education, most recently serving as an assistant principal at an elementary school in McKinney, Texas. God At Work

March 20, 2014

Acts 9:40 “But Peter put them all outside, and knelt down and prayed and turning to the body he said “Tabitha, arise.”  And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter she sat up.” On Sunday I was in my local church and one of our pastors taught on Acts 9:32-43.  As he spoke I kept thinking that the message reminded me so much of what is happening at the 25 Project. In the passage God was at work…He was working…

The first book Ibrahim could call his own…

February 28, 2014

Of all the experiences I could share after returning a couple weeks ago from Sierra Leone with the 25 Project, here is one unforgettable memory from my time there. Upon the boys’ arrival at the Hope Center for camp the first day, I was looking for a few boys I was more familiar with because of stories I have heard from my husband, Kent, or the fact that I have family and friends who sponsor them through the 25 Project’s…

The Feeding Program…It is a Beginning

February 19, 2014

The latest 25 Project team of 11 headed to Sierra Leone arrived at my house at 9:30am to carpool to DFW airport and begin the 20+ hour set of flights to step into Africa.  Particularly amazing was the fact we would experience a day in the life of street children living in Waterloo, Sierra Leone while on the trip.  Our team interacted with children like Abdul and his friends to feel, touch, witness and share the life of living on the streets….

One Day. One Voice. One Purpose.

November 1, 2013

One Day. One Voice. One Purpose.  Orphan Sunday is this Sunday and it is one day out of the entire year to unite believers and churches around the world to defend the fatherless, to care for children who have no place to call home, to bring into focus God’s heart for the orphan. We are always excited about this day each November!  Our focus at the 25 Project comes from Jesus words in Matthew 25, that when we serve…

Expect Great Things. Attempt Great Things.

August 30, 2013

“Expect great things from God.  Attempt great things for God.”  This quote by William Carey, known as the father of modern missions, was made some 200+ years ago and has been very influential in my life in recent years. In this past year the 25 Project team has looked to God with great expectation as we have taken the first steps of attempting great things for God.  He has opened doors of ministry in Sierra Leone, the Dominican Republic, and…

Waterloo – Home To Hundreds of Street Kids

July 17, 2013

I just returned from a trip to Sierra Leone and I can say I’m unashamedly fired up about the ministry God is allowing the 25 Project to be involved in there.  He has opened the door for tremendous impact upon street kids in a community just outside Freetown named “Waterloo”. Hundreds of boys wander the streets of Waterloo everyday, doing odd jobs to get enough money to buy a plate of rice.  Some days they eat, some days they don’t….
