Bringing Hope and Healing

June 1, 2017

“Taking him up by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong.” Acts 3:7 The Story I’m sitting on my back porch enjoying God’s beauty late this evening, on Memorial Day. Honestly, I began this journal post this morning. Sometimes I get a little distracted. However, God’s been working with me on this verse all day and even as I wrote He spoke in a new way. Isn’t He awesome in that way?…

Ibrahim’s Story

Lives Changed, Names Changed!

May 3, 2016

Spontaneous songs of worship sang by our former street boys and local leaders to our King are what resonated in the air surrounding the areas of Kent Beach in Sierra Leone on Sunday 2016. As Christians around the world celebrated Palm Sunday, commemorating Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, we found ourselves with much to celebrate. Because Jesus entered Jerusalem to hang on a tree for all, 12 kids and 2 leaders made decisions to accept Christ’s sacrifice and seal themselves…

Thank You Cornerstone Christian Academy!

March 9, 2016

Cornerstone Christian Academy second grade students topped off their school’s huge Valentine fundraiser by presenting a $2,000 check to the 25 Project! Jennifer Thomas, a parent and volunteer at Cornerstone in McKinney, Texas, challenged the kids to think globally in helping others this Valentine’s Day. Having heard of a need through the 25 Project for books and Bibles, Jennifer decided to challenge her child’s second grade class to “think worldwide” and help outside their circle of influence. School in Sierra Leone

January 8, 2016

Have you ever wondered how school works in other countries? During my last trip to Sierra Leone we were able to visit most of the former street boys at their school. This, along with input from our partners there, Becky Brockelman and Charles Yimbo, I feel like I understand enough now to share schooling in Sierra Leone. Our children in Sierra Leone begin in Primary Classes I through VI. When a child’s family has sufficient funds, children begin Class I at…
