A Story by Nathan Bogue Marianny is my family’s sponsored child in the Dominican Republic! She reminds me of my own daughter Lillie, in so many ways, every time I see her. Marianny loves to sing, talk about what she is learning at school and laugh with her friends. My family and I have such a heart to see her grow in her faith, just as we ourselves are doing. I was so delighted when Marianny confirmed her faith in…

Lechería Village in the Dominican Republic has many stories of trials and struggles. It becomes the greatest joy when God changes a life. I met Patricia two years ago in Lechería, but finally heard her story while serving with one of our teams. Patricia, Pepe, Vanessa were among the children in my group during camp. Each day we would dig into God’s Word learning about salvation and God’s plan for our lives. Where there is hardship and trials, God can…

I had so much excitement to see the progress of the Gospel in the lives of Ibrahim and so many others there. I hoped to be a blessing to Ibrahim, and his friends while I was there. However, I did…

Recently I was listening to a radio program, catching the very end of a teaching segment by Chuck Swindoll. The teaching was about Nehemiah and the seemingly impossible task of rebuilding Jerusalem. In the last couple of minutes, Chuck diverged from the topic to talk about what he referred to as the layman. In place of layman, I would say ministry partners. What he said was so close to my heart because it reflects the 25 Project’s heart for all of…

Have you ever wondered how school works in other countries? During my last trip to Sierra Leone we were able to visit most of the former street boys at their school. This, along with input from our partners there, Becky Brockelman and Charles Yimbo, I feel like I understand enough now to share schooling in Sierra Leone. Our children in Sierra Leone begin in Primary Classes I through VI. When a child’s family has sufficient funds, children begin Class I at…

This past Saturday the 25 Project held a MercyMe benefit concert. Can I borrow a phrase from Bart and remind you that because of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, you are holy, righteous and redeemed! My prayer is that you needed to be reminded of that today. I was privileged to be able to see and speak to many of you Saturday and to meet many of you for the first time.God prompted me to write about this event. There is…

The following post is from Melissa Willmarth, a friend, Name Changer Sponsor, and previous Sierra Leone team member with 25. After returning from her second experience in Sierra Leone, Melissa wrote the following… “I first met and sponsored Sorie and Abass during my first trip to Sierra Leone with the 25 Project on their February 2013 mission team. It is hard to describe the joy of seeing both of these boys again this year when I returned. My heart skipped when I…
