Que Aperidá

May 26, 2016

Que aperidá is a saying used in the Dominican Republic to indicate that something is amazing. What God is doing in the Dominican Republic is amazing! We are so pleased to announce that after many months of prayer and seeking God’s guidance, He has led us to begin a formal partnership in the Dominican Republic. Several teams have gone to the Dominican Republic to work in two villages. One village is Villa Laura and its people are of Dominican decent…

School in Sierra Leone

January 8, 2016

Have you ever wondered how school works in other countries? During my last trip to Sierra Leone we were able to visit most of the former street boys at their school. This, along with input from our partners there, Becky Brockelman and Charles Yimbo, I feel like I understand enough now to share schooling in Sierra Leone. Our children in Sierra Leone begin in Primary Classes I through VI. When a child’s family has sufficient funds, children begin Class I at…

This word comes to mind…

November 11, 2015

Faithful. That was the word that continued to come to my mind this past weekend. God is faithful, He is always faithful. We’ve seen His faithfulness over and over since the beginning of this ministry. And this past weekend was no exception as He gave us more tangible examples and reminders of His faithfulness to what He has called us to be and do. Part of our team stayed in Texas and helped bring awareness to God’s heart for orphans….

The Power of Touch

November 3, 2015

I just recently returned from visiting our kids in Sierra Leone in October. I wanted to share with you a quick update regarding the time I spent there. Repeatedly in the Bible we see that God was a person of personal relationship. He loved to talk to His people and many times communicated that love through touch. There has been much research done in the power of touch. Jesus certainly held a supernatural power in His touch. In Matthew 8:1-3…

Sending Smiles to Sierra Leone

September 18, 2015

With God’s leading, we were so excited to give our sponsors the chance to provide a personal care package to their sponsored child. We are always thrilled about the way God moves among His people! Within two days of discussing the possibility of providing care packages and finding someone to champion the effort, we received a sweet email by one of our sponsors, Barbara Cross. Her question was about…..you guessed it, care packages! After some prayer by Barbara and the 25 Project, we all decided to…

India Mercy Homes

March 11, 2015

After months of discussions, prayer, and consideration, we are thrilled to announce that the 25 Project has begun overseeing the operation and ministry of two children’s homes in India. While this was a process that took months to complete, it became clear over time that God had led us to these precious kids.    The two Mercy Homes consist of one home for girls, and one home for boys. There are a total of 54 children currently in the…

A Unique Reunion

July 7, 2014

The following post is from Melissa Willmarth, a friend, Name Changer Sponsor, and previous Sierra Leone team member with 25. After returning from her second experience in Sierra Leone, Melissa wrote the following… “I first met and sponsored Sorie and Abass during my first trip to Sierra Leone with the 25 Project on their February 2013 mission team.  It is hard to describe the joy of seeing both of these boys again this year when I returned.  My heart skipped when I…

God working in the Dominican

April 10, 2014

My excitement this month with our team in the Dominican Republic was greater than ever! Seventy one of us were ready to arrive in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic to share the Good News of Jesus Christ in local bateys (villages). Beginning at 4:15am in the morning the team, divided into four traveling groups, began checking bags at our airport to make the journey. As one group met up with another during layovers, it was a joy to see the seventy…
