Melissa Community Outreach

The 25 Project seeks to help children around the world. In addition to the 25 Project’s work overseas, the desire has always been to serve children in our local community. The Melissa Community Outreach (MCO) provides that opportunity.  Recently the 25 Project and MCO joined forces to bring the hope and healing of the gospel to local families. The 25 Project seeks to provide MCO with more structure and support, while expanding the existing ministry. With this expansion, the 25 Project and MCO will be able to provide more local outreach opportunities, and reach even more children and families in need.

What Does MCO Provide?

MCO provides food and coats to families who have found themselves in crisis. When MCO was launched, Matthew 25:35 was the guiding verse,

For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.

We hope to meet the communities’ physical needs through the existing food pantry ministry. We are excited by the ways God has already used MCO and are eager to see all the ways He will further use this ministry to bless the community.

MCO’s Director

Today, Dena Norton, serves on the 25 Project team as the Director of MCO. Dena is not new to the 25 Project or ministry to at-risk families. She has excitement, experience, and a passion for reaching children and families for Christ. We are absolutely thrilled to have Dena on the 25 Project team.

Ways to Get Involved

MCO clients receive food and coats at no charge because of the generosity of our neighbors. Our clients live in Melissa, Anna, Blue Ridge, Van Alstyne, McKinney and other surrounding areas of North Texas. MCO is staffed by volunteers and committed to serving each one of our neighbors in need.

If you live in the Collin County area we hope you will join us!
