Holy, Righteous and Redeemed

This past Saturday the 25 Project held a MercyMe benefit concert. Can I borrow a phrase from Bart and remind you that because of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, you are holy, righteous and redeemed! My prayer is that you needed to be reminded of that today.MM-65

I was privileged to be able to see and speak to many of you Saturday and to meet many of you for the first time.God prompted me to write about this event. There is so much work that goes on before a big event like this. Our team, led by Barbara Cross, had been busily planning to make this event a blessing to everyone in attendance, but the most important thing we have done during the planning is to be in prayer prior to the concert. Our prayer was that the Gospel would be clearly revealed by anyone who took the stage, by every conversation, every interaction, and every song.

We have received feedback from so many of you that have let us know what a blessing the night was. It was equally a blessing for our team to worship with you and to know that we were all there for a unified purpose….to support the work of Christ among orphaned and vulnerable children.

If I had time to go into every detail of everything that had to come together for this event to occur you would see just how wonderfully gracious God has been. A verse that our Executive Director, Kent Jones, shared with us at our team meeting some time ago would be a wonderful way to describe all the planning, prayers answered, the things we hadn’t even prayed about that God put together just to add his magnificent touch, it would be Psalm 90:17-

“Let the favor of the Lord our God rest on us– yes establish the work of our hands.”

Indeed, the Lord, in His goodness, allowed favor to rest with us Saturday. Through your support Saturday, you came alongside us to establish the work among the seemingly hopeless. With you, we are bringing the hope of Jesus Christ among the least of these. On behalf of the 25 team… we are so incredibly grateful for you! To God be the glory.
